SUMMER 2023 continued…..
SUMMER 2023
The whole school performed the instruments they have been learning during the Spring Term in a whole school assembly for parents.
Class One started the proceedings off by singing and playing the glockenspiels (on notes D & C) to a couple of their favourite nursery rhymes: Incy Wincy Spider and Baa Baa Black Sheep.
Class Two followed by their impressive recorder playing. They have learnt how to play the notes B & A, and they have also had a go at improvising on the recorders.
Class Three: Year 3 played more complex melodies on the glockenspiels whilst the Year 4’s learnt how to play the keyboards, right hand melodies and left hand chords.
Class Four learnt how to play the piano. They got as far as playing pieces that required them to play their right hand, the Treble Clef melody, and their left hand, the Bass Clef accompaniment, at the same time.
Well done children, staff and parents alike are all proud of your achievements.

8.5.2020 - VE Day Celebrations:
Hello children, hope you all had chance to celebrate and reflect/remember VE Day. With my family, we made our own bunting and decorations, observed the 2 minute silence on our doorstep and we had afternoon tea whilst listening to World War 2 songs. It was a day of reflection of the past, of all those that sacrificed so much for the freedom we enjoy today; and the present, thinking of those who are working so hard on the front line in hospitals, battling Covid-19.
4.5.2020
With this Friday being a special day to celebrate VE 75, I have found a link to share with you: songs of World War 2. I hope you enjoy listening to them with your family. Below are some questions I would like you to consider when listening to these nostalgic songs.
