Sports Day - Thursday 15th June, 2023

What a superb sports day we had today.  The children enjoyed the whole day in their houses. 

In the morning, they prepared supportive banners to wave in the afternoon.  They also completed their field events, which included; archery, hurdles and throwing.

In the afternoon, we were joined by parents and completed the track events.  

It was a great afternoon and the sun shone down on us all!

St Patrick house were the overall winners.  However, all the houses competed brilliantly and the sportsmanship was a joy to behold!

Year 3/4 & Year 5/6 Tri-Golf Competition 

Well done to all the children who represented the school on Monday 28th November 2022 at Penrith Leisure centre, they all had a fantastic time and enjoyed trying something new.

Huge well done to our year 5 & 6 football team who took part in the EFL Kids Cup competition 2022 at Soccer World , Carlisle! Fantastic effort from the full team!

Cross Country Championships 2022-2023 held at Hunter Hall School!

A massive well done to our 6 teams from across KS2 for completing the cross county course and giving it their all, Also a massive well done to the children that have qualified for the next round which is the Cumbria Cross Country Championship which will be held on Wednesday 25th January 2023 at Sedbergh Casterton School!

On Friday 14th October 2022 a group of children from Class 3 enjoyed going along to 'Come and Try Badminton' at Penrith Leisure Centre.

Massive congratulations to our netball team, Who played at QEGS on Friday 7th October and qualified for the Year 5 & 6 Netball Final on Thursday 16th March 2023 at KSGS! We are all so proud of the team!

Well done to the Year 5 & 6 Football team who finished 2nd in their round at the competition on Thursday 6th October 2022 at French field, amazing effort from the full team!

Swimming Gala

Well done to St Catherine's Swimming Team - you represented our school very well, as usual. Everyone came home with either a medal or a badge! We had a ball! 

On Monday 23rd May 2022 a selection of children from Year 3 & 4 represented us at the Small schools county final in Carlisle.

The children gave it their all and did St Catherine's proud!

Well done all !

KS1 Cross Country

16 Children from KS1 took part in a Cross Country competition on Tuesday 3rd May 2022. The children gave it their all and did St Catherine's proud. Congratulations all round!

KS2 Tag Rugby Festival

On Thursday 28th April 2022 a selection of children from across KS2 represented school at a Tag Rugby Festival. 

The Children were absolutely fantastic, we were so impressed with their team moral and determination.

They did everyone at St Catherine's proud!

KS2 2022 Eden Schools Cross Country Championships

On Friday 25th March 2022, 17 Children from across KS2 took part in the Cross country event which was kindly hosted by Hunter Hall School.

Panathlon 2022

On Tuesday 22nd April 2022, 13 Children from Reception to Year 6 took part in a Panathlon at Penrith Leisure Centre. They enjoyed competing in all the individual games.

Well done for achieving 3rd place out of many schools.

Most recently the Year 4 and Year 5 children have enjoyed participating in swimming lessons at Penrith Leisure Centre. They have acquired new life-saving skills and had a lot of fun! They are very proud to receive certificates for their progress.

On Wednesday 1st December, children from Year 3 and 4 represented St Catherine's School at the Tri- Golf competition at Penrith Leisure Centre. The children really enjoyed trying to hit all the targets and learning lots of new skills.

 MASSIVE Congratulations to St Catherine's Football team for coming 4th in the Small Schools County Final on Tuesday 23rd November 2022. Everyone at St Catherine's School is proud of your hard work, determination and excellent team work throughout all the competitions!

Year 2 Multi-sports Festival

What a fun-filled afternoon the Year 2 children had at Penrith Leisure Centre. The children participated in orienteering, mini goal-scoring, relay running, long jump, javelin and much more!

Our KS2 Footballers received their certificates today for taking part in the Football competition. We have our fingers crossed for the final boys. We are very proud of you.

September 2021

Well done and thank you to our KS2 Netball team for representing us so well at the Eden Valley Partnership competition. We are very proud of you.

St Catherine's Football Team

On Thursday 7th October 2021 our team went to French fields to take part in the Eden Valley Sports Partnership Football tournament.

The team played 3 matches and won every single one which secured them a place in the semi-final... which they the won! This means the team have secured themselves a place in, The Eden Final, on Thursday 4th November 2021.

What a fantastic effort from the whole team, you have made all at St Catherine's very proud.

St Catherine's Netball Team

On Friday 24th September 2021 the team headed to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School to take part in The Eden Valley Sports partnership Netball competition. The team put in a wonderful effort and tried really hard against many new challenges.

Key Stage One Sports Afternoon

What a ANOTHER brilliant afternoon, with glorious sunshine and happy children!

Key Stage One have participated in a fun-filled sports afternoon and done very well!

Three houses even drew with the same points!

Key Stage Two Sports Afternoon - The Results!

What a brilliant afternoon!

I am extremely proud to say that I was blown away by the amount of care, support and encouragement, Key Stage Two children show towards each other - I was very impressed!

Not only do we have polite, motivating team-players we have superb athletics too!

The results are....

4th Position with 294 points is St. Patrick's

3rd Position with 344 points is St. David's

2nd Position with 352 points is St. Andrew's

1st Position with 368 points is St. George's!

These results will be collated with Key Stage One Results

to give the overall winning St. Catherine's House Team!

February: Key Steps Gymnastic Competition

St. Catherine's Year Two Gymnastic Team achieved SECOND PLACE, in their first,

Key Steps Gymnastics Competition, held at Penrith Leisure Centre, Penrith. 

The children performed two solo routines and a spring-board jump,

which they executed brilliantly at the competition.

We are extremely proud of the children's efforts and compassion

towards each other.
