May 2025
This month we have been learning about shadows, making musical instruments, different ways to show 10, counting in 10's, celebrating our new Pope, taking part in our May Procession and enjoying the sunshine.
April 2025
We have been busy planting seeds and watering the garden. In geography Year 1 children were investigating maps and local wildlife habitats. We ended the term with a house Easter morning and illustrated the story of Holy Week.
March 2025: We have celebrated Pancake Day by playing pancake making, reading Mr Wolf's Pancakes in Drawing Club and decorating and eating pancakes! Also this month we have been to Ash Wednesday Mass, learned about life cycles in Butterfly Week and been over to the woodland area to learn outdoors with Mrs. Proudfoot. This week Year 1 children have been finding and exploring different ways to measure length and record their findings,
February has started to show signs that spring is coming!
Reception children have been paint printing with their feet! All of the children baked and iced their own Valentine's Day biscuits. We played the peg passing heart game (building fine motor strength). We have had lots of outdoor play, also had a spring clean and sweep up of the old leaves. Year 1 have been writing about signs of spring and finally, we all loved our morning planting trees in our new woodland area and singing campfire songs!
What an icy start to January! We have been melting ice and testing different temperatures. In Drawing Club we have illustrated 'What the Snowmen do at Night' and 'How to Catch a Star'. Also making snowflakes, baking bread, making maps in geography and celebrating our new abilities in reading and writing.

We've had a fabulous start to the festive season!
November 2024
This month we have been very busy, Pumpkin Week, Hedgehog Week, French Day, learning about St. Catherine, painting poppies, creating Nativity displays and Crib Blessings... as well as our daily learning, exploring and investigating!
YEAR 1: Year 1 have completed their first Science topic - Animals Including Humans. In this unit we learned about human and animal bodies, considering differences and similarities. The children engaged in a variety of activities including drawing and labelling the body, using their senses to conduct a survey, describe animal bodies and sort animals into groups.
House French Day
October 2024
The children have enjoyed moving around the different classes learning about life in France, history and French culture.
